Floppy disks are storage devices that can be inserted into the computer, usually displaying information about surgery. The "Controls" disk is unlocked by default and is always inserted into the floppy drive. Every other floppy disk has to be unlocked by completing a surgery.
To insert another floppy disk, press the black button next to the Unity sticker to eject the currently inserted disk. A new disk can now be inserted into the floppy drive (slot).
For a list of how to unlock each floppy disk, see the "10 Megabytes of Raw Data" achievement here.
